Greetings,
I’m known as ‘Rob Tabatabai’ for convenience!
Born and raised in the UK where I studied Japanese Studies at both Oxford and Sheffield Universities. I first moved to Japan to teach English at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
My interest in renewable energies was ‘ignited’ from extensive reading and a passion for the environment.
I gained my first client, in the hydrogen industry, at the first World Smart Energy Week in Tokyo in 2005.
Soon after, I established SEIKAKUSHINRAI k.k. with my Japanese partner.
Since then we have assisted clients from around the world to develop their goals inside and outside of Japan.
The energy industry is evolving rapidly on a global basis, this has incentivized me to take my Master of Science in Energy Policy - an online degree, designed for working professionals - from the University of Sussex, UK.
This has been a wonderful opportunity to work with people from around the world, specializing in a plethora of technologies and low-carbon energy transition policy approaches!
In my free time I travel with my family, balancing exploring new places with joyfully visiting family members and friends in Ireland, Australia, France, the USA, and Belgium! I love cooking and writing (poetry and SF, as well as commentaries on international sustainability issues) and we do our best to stay fit, in as many exciting ways as possible!
It is my pleasure to meet you,
I was born and brought up in Kobe, Japan. I studied English qualifications in Newfoundland Canada! After working in a kibbutz in Israel I became a volunteer worker in Nepal. I returned to Japan taking on administrative and managerial roles in various companies. I believe both global business development and global progress can work hand in hand, and I have developed SEIKAKUSHINRAI k.k. to promote such holistic progress.
I used to be a passionate ice hockey player and even an amateur triathlete! However since the birth of my daughter she has taken up much of my free time! My Japanese family have been host parents to students from around the world and I have happily continued the tradition! When possible I travel and enjoy learning about different cultures, including foods!
